I’ll be replacing this with a grayscale version as soon as I get that done, but I wanted to keep my promise that there would be a page today. My intentions were to work on pages all weekend but Saturday brought me terrible news that, combined with a video deadline for tomorrow, pretty much took me out for the count for two days.

The bad news? The horse I learned to ride on passed away on Saturday. Her name was Ivy, and from the moment I laid eyes on her the first time (when the instructor brought her out of the barn for me to brush her) I was in love. Ivy was a Hanoverian/Percheron mix, built like a tank, tall as can be, and the sweetest, kindest soul you have ever met. Infinitely patient with everyone, she taught me and countless others over the years how to ride. She was one-of-a-kind and the news is devastating to me.

She will never have an equal in my heart. I miss her so much even though I hadn’t ridden her in a long time. Actually, I’d been thinking lately about saving some money and buying lessons from this barn again so that I could ride her. But that will never happen now. I still can’t believe she’s gone. Rest in Peace, beautiful girl.

On a slightly less depressing note, last Friday I ordered the parts for my new computer build. Once they all come in we’ll start putting everything together. So hopefully the current computer holds out for a few more days. I wasn’t able to get all the RAM that I wanted because it sold out three different times between Amazon and NewEgg. I had to settle for half the amount I really want. I’ll just have to upgrade later, I guess.
