ZIP! Outta there! Super happy with the effects that Byron, my colorist, got on that first panel. I put in the notes that the lines were an overlay on the map and for him to have fun with it, and I believe that is exactly what happened!

So hey, a lot of you know that I wrote a book back a few years ago called Mastering Manga Studio 5. Since then I’ve also been putting up Manga Studio 5 tutorials on my YouTube Channel. Well I’ve also been stocking up my Gumroad store and have decided to start putting much more in-depth MS5 tutorials there as well. Last Friday I literally spent most of the day working on a tutorial write up as well as a video and some sample things to put in the bundle. The first half of the video is up on my YouTube channel, but if you want more information then you can order the package from Gumroad. It’s a pay-what-you-want deal with a minimum of $1.99. Check out the info below and click it to go to the listing on my shop.

I absolutely love to help people out with Manga Studio. I’ve turned almost in to the “Help Desk” on Twitter and Facebook for the program, actually. I do my best to answer questions and to help others get as much out of this program as I have in the past few years, because I believe with all my heart that it’s the best art software out there. I’ve been known to drop what I’m doing and answer questions, going out of my way to help others. I don’t mind doing this, but it does take time and effort. Recording the tutorial videos, writing tutorials, and even doing research before the recording to make sure that everything is going to work right all takes time. I love to keep putting out free content and answering questions, but unfortunately it takes away time that I could be spending doing commissions or other freelance work. Right now the “steady pay” that this gig brings in is $17 a month through Patreon (about $15 after fees), which I use to pay for CrashPlan and for my Pandora subscription (because I listen to Pandora while I draw and write).

And I’m rambling because I’ve been terrified all weekend that someone was going to scream at me somewhere because all of the info from the latest tutorial isn’t up for free and I keep trying to explain my side of things before I get flamed. So I’m going to shut up now, because I lost most of the day to horse stuff and I have work to do. (Which includes preparing another tutorial to record this week)
